Chaudigital has as of 13th May 2003, been appointed an official dealer for Minolta professional scanners in London.
Speaking at Chaudigital's premises, Minolta UK's Sales & Marketing Assistant Paul Genge said that being based in the centre of London - right within the heart of the UK photographic and graphics imaging industry - meant that Chaudigital has a unique position unrivalled by any other dealer in London.
Customers who visit Chaudigital's new showroom will be able to see the scanners in operation up close on site, and will be able to make informed decisions about the scanners before their purchase.
Chaudigital already supplies Minolta's range of professional digital cameras to its customers, and enjoys a good working relationship with Minolta's sister company Konica on inkjet papers and digital cameras, which is distributed by Chaudigital's subsidiary Paperandinks.com.
One of the first products to be demonstrated at the showroom soon will be the new Minolta DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400.
To be launched in the UK near the end of May 2003, the Elite 5400 is a 5400dpi 35mm film scanner. With a depth of 48bits and a dynamic range of 4.8 it is capable of producing high quality files up to 116MB. The Elite 5400 will be equipped with generous image correction features such as Digital ICE dust and scratch removal, and auto exposure compensation. It also features multiple batch scanning of images with its standard film and slide holders, pre/post correction display (to compare images side-by-side) and has various batch scanning features such as applying image corrections to folders and logging various batch scans as jobs or projects. With both USB 2.0 and Firewire connections, the 5400 will be compatible with most desktop computer systems such as Windows 98/2000/XP and Mac OS 8.6-9.2 and OS X. Pricing of the Elite 5400 is to be confirmed, but is expected to be competitive.
